Blog Entry #1 Art Imitating Media Imitating Life
Just recently, the social network sensation "Facebook" has put new privacy settings allowing people to better protect their personal information. This has made Facebook users more aware of the dangers of putting personal information onto their Facebook profiles and it gives the people who were already aware a sense of relief. After these settings were created, I became more aware that anybody in the whole world can see what I put on my Facebook profile as well as other social networking websites that I use such as Tumblr or Twitter. On Facebook as well as other social networking sites, I limit what I write to what My friends may need to identify me. I would only post things like my name, age, gender, and my email address. By doing this, people cannot see my location or where I go to school. I also never post and inappropriate pictures of my self or anyone else so that they cannot be used by people who would take advantage of what I post. It is very important to me that I protect my profile because the internet is where many stalkers and identity thieves go to take advantage of people.

Very well written response Sean! I agree with your reasoning as to why Facebook can affect our lives personally. It is creepy to know that others can look at your pictures, info, and wall posts. Good response!
