Initial Reaction: My initial reaction when I first see the video is that it looks like they copied the original Kelly Clarkson, Since you've been gone music video.

Analysis and Interpretation:  I think the artists and the directer were aiming to do a funnier version of the original music video.

Consideration of Cultural Context: From watching interviews of the band, they said that they chose to cover this song as a way of showing their fans what kid of band they wanted to be. They wanted to be a pop-punk band with a heavy sound, screaming, and breakdowns.

Expression of Aesthetic Judgement: The music video looks like the band is trying to make the song more hardcore and also funny.  The visuals make me like the song more because it helps to understand where the band is coming from when they did this song.

Ongoing reflection: If i didn't watch the music video, i would think the song is serious and has a lot of meaning but if you watch the video, you can see that the band is trying to be funny.

Blog Entry #1 Art Imitating Media Imitating Life

Just recently, the social network sensation "Facebook" has put new privacy settings allowing people to better protect their personal information.  This has made Facebook users more aware of the dangers of putting personal information onto their Facebook profiles and it gives the people who were already aware a sense of relief.  After these settings were created, I became more aware that anybody in the whole world can see what I put on my Facebook profile as well as other social networking websites that I use such as Tumblr or Twitter.  On Facebook as well as other social networking sites, I limit what I write to what My friends may need to identify me.   I would only post things like my name, age, gender, and my email address.  By doing this, people cannot see my location or where I go to school.  I also never post and inappropriate pictures of my self or anyone else so that they cannot be used by people who would take advantage of what I post.  It is very important to me that I protect my profile because the internet is where many stalkers and identity thieves go to take advantage of people.
